Tteokbokki

Description

Tteokbokki is a very popular rice cake (tteok) dish from Korea. I got to be aware of this dish after watching a bunch of Korean dramas.

Here is my own twist, combining recipe I followed with bunch of fun toppings I like, with reduced amount of the tteok itself.

Steps

  1. Make broth: boil anchovy and kelp in 1-2 cup of water for 10-15 minutes, remove chunks from the pan.
  2. Boil frozen tteok just to soften
  3. Add gochujang and sweetener/sugar to the broth, mix well
  4. Add the rest of ingredients, cook a little more until everything is heated up.
