  • December 2021
    • 30: Seeds (McKenzie) planted in new soil (MiracleGro potting mix), with rocks at the bottom of the pot. Covered in paper towel to avoid fungus gnat investation.
  • January 2022
    • 11: Seedling started coming. They are up to 1 cm now.
    • 23: More seedlings are coming. leaves enlarginf. More thriving in general even though height wise it's still about 1-1.5 cm.
    • 31: Red coloring starts to show up in some leaves.
  • February
    • 7 Feb: Thinning the seedlings. Seems like majority of seeds are growing and the leaves are large. The container is crowded. Seedling are thinned, and regular thinning from now on will be necessary.
    • 9 Feb: Moved to southwest bedroom window behind tall bunny tail grass to provide shade from the sunlight.
    • 12 Feb: thinning.
    • 22 Feb: thinning continues. Red spots getting brighter and more prominent.
  • March
    • 12 Mar: Some of the green ones remain green, some start showing yellow center.
    • 25 Mar: Watered thoroughly in preparation of 10 days holiday.
  • April
    • 3 Apr: Back from holiday, look very good and thriving.
  • May
    • 6 May: Transferred to 30 cm round pot to give more room. Evidently, root is jammed packed.
  • June
    • 28: Pruned down because it's getting too big. The pruned cuttings are put in water for propagation. 1 flower stem is found in the middle of thickness.
Care
  • Part shade. For indoor containers, indirect sunlight in warm months, expose to filtered unlight during the winter. It does need some light even though just a little.
  • Hot and humid.
  • Water: keep moist but not soggy. Water every 2-3 days.
