From bulbs.

Journal 2022
  • March
    • 19: Harrison's plant. Harrison and mommy planted 30 bulbs.
    • 25: Watered thoroughly in preparation of 10 days holiday.
  • April
    • 3: Back from holiday, seedlings look very good and thriving. 20 cm tall. 2 patches of mold is observed in the soil and 1 plant within looks small and sickly. Discarded/cropped out as best as I can.
    • 5: Warm day, temperature above 10 °C. Put outside during warm hours. Will put back inside in the evening.
    • 24: Too dense and too invested with fungus gnats. Reduced to 5 + 4 + 5.
  • May
    • 9: 2 seems to be not making it. Continues to be the most major fungus gnats investation site.
    • 21: Buds
  • June
    • 3: Added bunny tails to the container
    • 4: Added yarrow to the container. Rearranged to fit better. Number of blazing stars: 10.
  • Summer
    • Early: Blooming beautifully for many months.
    • Late: Dried up in the heat of summer. Sacrificed. Harry was feeling sad about it.
Care
  • Water: regular watering in first years, more drought tolerance in the next years.
  • Temperature and humidity: tolerant to summer heat and humidity. Can survive cold winter if soil is not too wet.
  • Fertilizer: not a heavy feeder, but if soil is poor, add flower fertilizer each spring as active growth begins. Will do fine if soil is decent.
